Trabber Offers launched on Trabber.it

25 January 2009

Another tool to travel on the cheap…

We just launched a new application (Trabber Offers) on Trabber´s Italian version. Trabber Offers helps travellers that are time or destination flexible to automatically find the cheapest airfares. Users just need to select the Departure city or route to obtain the best prices.

Examples:
- Best offers from Rome
- Best offers from Milan to New York

How does it work?
We have implemented an algorithm that analyses all searches performed by Trabber´s users. With this information, the algorithm decides whether the price found is a “good deal” or not. This is decided using current mean airfares per route.

Google Street View in Trabber Hotel search engine

2 November 2008

We have integrated Google Street View images to Trabber Hotel search engine to allow users to view the streets where hotels are located. We consider this information could be very useful when deciding to book a hotel.

Next to the address of each hotel and the link that opens the Map, users now can find a new link, View street. By clicking on this link, a 3D imagine provided by this new Google feature will be diplayed. Note that currently Google just support a limited list of cities. Thus, this feature will just be provided in Trabber results where supported by Google (Here you can find the current supported list of cities).

Keep in mind that not always the image displayed will show the front side of the hotel. In such cases, you would be able to see the hotel by turning the 3D image to either side.

Trabber aggregates flight information from 40 websites

14 October 2008

Thanks to last weeks’ developments, Trabber flight search engine already extracts information from 40 online travel agencies and airline websites to allow users to easily find the best flight deals.

Recently, we have added to the service three low cost airlines: TUIfly (tuifly.com), Iceland Express (icelandexpress.com) and Smart Wings (smartwings.com) as well as 2 more traditional airlines: Brussels Airlines (brusselsairlines.com), and bmi (flybmi.com), which certainly will improve Trabber´s results in several European routes.

Over the coming weeks, we will present new features and add new airlines and agencies to the service. If you miss something in Trabber, send us your ideas or suggestions!

Improvements in the flight search engine

16 July 2008

We have made quite a few changes on the results page of the flights search engine. These are the most significant:

  1. One-way flights are automatically combined when it is found that the price is more convenient than in just one purchase.
  2. Duplicated flights from different providers are grouped to better compare prices. On the new layout, users will see the price of the cheaper supplier on the left side of the result set and all other options are also shown next to it.
  3. New filters have been added to allow an easier flight selection.
  4. Improved display performance. The application has been migrated to AJAX that allows a smoother result update as page reloads are eliminated.

We have also made some other changes in design and usability ;) .

We hope you enjoy the improvements. You can leave your comments as always on this blog or in Trabber’s development forums.

New hotel search engine on Trabber.co.uk

11 May 2008

We have just launched a new product on the UK version of Trabber, a search engine that helps to compare hotel fares.

It works very similarly to the flight search engine. The software connects simulaneously to several online travel agencies and aggregates the content to allow users to easily compare all options. We have implemented several filters to help on the selection.

Rather than explaining it further I think it is worth a try.

Now it is your time to tell us what do you think :)

Lastminute flights in Trabber.de

26 March 2008

Today Trabber Deutschland results include also flights from Lastminute.de

Remember that you can always check the full list of providers (take into account that the travel agencies included are different for each country).

Hotel search engine in Trabber.fr

18 March 2008

We have just deployed a new hotel search engine in Trabber France.

It works in a similar way to the flight search engine that you already know: it searches for hotels in several providers at once and it shows them in a results page that simplifies their comparison and selection using filters (by hotel category, situation, etc.) and sorting options (by price, stars, distance to city center).

But maybe it’s better that you just try it and tell us what you think: hotel search engine.

2 travel agencies added to Trabber US

5 September 2007

We have added 2 new travel agencies to Trabber US: Hotwire and Last Minute Travel.

This is the full list of providers for the US version of Trabber.

Filtering by airport or company

8 August 2007

Trabber results page now supports filtering of the flights by several criteria: provider website, origin airport and destination airport.

Filters screenshot

You will find the filters in the right column of the results page. Just clicking in a checkbox hides the results of the corresponding company (or airport). And the opposite occurs when clicking on the link labeled only: just the flights from this provider or airport will be displayed.

We hope that this new feature will help you to find the best flights even faster.

Trabber United States

2 June 2006

We have just released a beta of Trabber for users from the States. Give it a try and let us know what you think about it: Trabber U.S. beta

Hope you find it useful if you are looking for cheap flights in the U.S.  Trabber started in Spain some months ago followed by Germany.  It has been very well received by users from both countries.
At the moment, Trabber US searches three major online agencies (Orbitz, Expedia and Priceline) and also all the airlines from Europe included in the Spanish and German versions (Iberia, Lufthansa, etc.).

From now on we will work on including American airlines to the list of providers.
