When planning a trip, one of the most important aspects is finding the right flight at the best price. One of our recommendations for traveling cheaply is to check for airports near your final destination. In Trabber’s flight search engine, we offer the ability to easily search including nearby airports. This feature can help you find more convenient fares or routes that you might not have considered.

To tell the search engine to include those airports, you simply need to check the option ‘Include nearby airports,‘ located under the city or airport selection, both for the destination and origin.

Of the total searches, 87.5% of users do not check the nearby airports option, while 12.5% do.

Why searching for flights at nearby airports can save you money?

In large cities with multiple airports, when selecting the specific city in the search, Trabber’s engine explores all available options for all airports in the city. An example can be the city of Paris, which has three airports near the center: Paris Orly (14 km), Paris-Charles de Gaulle (23 km), and Beauvais-Tillé (69 km).

However, some low-cost airlines tend to operate at secondary airports in other towns, located tens of kilometers from urban centers or even in nearby cities. We often don’t consider traveling to these airports, but in certain cases, they can provide significant savings for your trip or even greater convenience to your final destination. For these purposes, Trabber’s Nearby Airports option can be very useful.

What does it mean to include nearby airports option in Trabber?

Marking the “Include nearby airports” option when searching on Trabber tells the system to consider not only the main airport and other airports in the city of origin or destination, but also flights to nearby airports that are far from the city center or in other cities.

Note that if you search without including nearby airports, Trabber will hide flights from distant airports by default. You can see them by selecting the airport on the left side of the results. If a cheaper flight from a distant airport is available, Trabber will notify you at the top of the page.
