Flight Alerts

29 May 2009 by Daniel

We have added a link on Trabber Italia, Deutschland and France search flights result page to facilitate users to create Alerts for the selected route.

Thus, simply by clicking on “Subscribe to offers …” in the upper right side of the flights result page, you can create an Alert that will warn you by email when a flight is found on that route as lower price than usual. To create a flight Alert you just need to enter your email and select the frequency of the mail delivery.

You can create more complex flights Alerts with conditions such as leave date, return date, minimum stay, etc… through Trabber Flight Offers section (IT, DE and FR) by using the filters at the top of the page before clicking on the “Receive these offers by email” link.

Remember that additionally there is a RSS channel that can be used to obtain the same information.

8 April 2009 by Daniel

Trabber presents a new feature for its hotels search engine. By clicking on “Map of displayed hotels“, Trabber will locate the results on the map of the selected destination.

To obtain additional information on a hotel you only need to click on the marker that indicates the position.

Luggage fee

28 March 2009 by Daniel

Several airlines, not just low cost carriers, are charging an extra fee for every bag checked. To provide a more realistic comparison between prices offered by low cost and traditional airlines, we have added on Trabber’s latest update a control to select the number of bags you plan to travel with.

On Trabber’s flight results you will find on the right side, a drop-down list that allows selecting the number of bags. After the selection is made, all prices will be updated automatically taking into account this fee. Note that this drop-down list will only appear when Trabber software detects that on your search there is at least an airline that might apply the luggage fee.

Displaying airport information

28 February 2009 by Daniel

Trabber´s new update integrates Google Maps to show the location and detailed information of airports in each city. Therefore, just beside the airport filter on the right side of search results, there is now 2 links (“map”), that will display on a map origin or destination airports respectively.

Clicking on any airports will show the distance to the city centre, the time zone, and a link to the airport’s website (available for some airports)

26 January 2009 by Daniel

Integrating Trabber on your site is now possible and available in 5 countries/languages. Just the following HTML code is required:

iframe

Note that the address specified for each language is slightly different:

for United Kingdom: src = "https://www.trabber.co.uk/search_box"
for Germany: src = "https://www.trabber.de/search_box"
for Italy: src = "https://www.trabber.it/search_box"
for France: src = "https://www.trabber.fr/search_box"
for United States: src = "https://www.trabber.com/us/search_box"

Additonally, there are several parameters that can be used to change the behaviour of the Trabber Search Box:

flight_type = 1 for a oneway flights and 2 for both ways
from_city = TLC code of the origin city
from_date = departure date
to_city = TLC code of the destination city
to_date = return date
n_adults = number of adults

n_infants = number of infants
target = “_blank” to open the search results on a new browser windows
css = to specify the .css file to be used (url to be located on your server)

Here is an example of a source request where the css, departure and destination city are configured:
src = "https://www.trabber.co.uk/search_box?css=http://www.mi_ip_address.com/my_style.css&from_city=LON&to_city=MAD"

All TLC codes can be found on this website – www.world-airport-codes.com

Trabber Offers launched on Trabber.it

25 January 2009 by Daniel

Another tool to travel on the cheap…

We just launched a new application (Trabber Offers) on Trabber´s Italian version. Trabber Offers helps travellers that are time or destination flexible to automatically find the cheapest airfares. Users just need to select the Departure city or route to obtain the best prices.

Examples:
Best offers from Rome
Best offers from Milan to New York

How does it work?
We have implemented an algorithm that analyses all searches performed by Trabber´s users. With this information, the algorithm decides whether the price found is a “good deal” or not. This is decided using current mean airfares per route.

Google Street View in Trabber Hotel search engine

2 November 2008 by Daniel

We have integrated Google Street View images to Trabber Hotel search engine to allow users to view the streets where hotels are located. We consider this information could be very useful when deciding to book a hotel.

trabber-gsv2.png

Next to the address of each hotel and the link that opens the Map, users now can find a new link, View street. By clicking on this link, a 3D imagine provided by this new Google feature will be diplayed. Note that currently Google just support a limited list of cities. Thus, this feature will just be provided in Trabber results where supported by Google (Here you can find the current supported list of cities).

Keep in mind that not always the image displayed will show the front side of the hotel. In such cases, you would be able to see the hotel by turning the 3D image to either side.

Trabber aggregates flight information from 40 websites

14 October 2008 by Daniel

Thanks to last weeks’ developments, Trabber flight search engine already extracts information from 40 online travel agencies and airline websites to allow users to easily find the best flight deals.

Recently, we have added to the service three low cost airlines: TUIfly (tuifly.com), Iceland Express and Smart Wings (smartwings.com) as well as 2 more traditional airlines: Brussels Airlines (brusselsairlines.com), and bmi, which certainly will improve Trabber´s results in several European routes.

Over the coming weeks, we will present new features and add new airlines and agencies to the service. If you miss something in Trabber, send us your ideas or suggestions!

Improvements in the flight search engine

16 July 2008 by Daniel

We have made quite a few changes on the results page of the flights search engine. These are the most significant:

  1. One-way flights are automatically combined when it is found that the price is more convenient than in just one purchase.
  2. Duplicated flights from different providers are grouped to better compare prices. On the new layout, users will see the price of the cheaper supplier on the left side of the result set and all other options are also shown next to it.
  3. New filters have been added to allow an easier flight selection.
  4. Improved display performance. The application has been migrated to AJAX that allows a smoother result update as page reloads are eliminated.

We have also made some other changes in design and usability ;).

We hope you enjoy the improvements. You can leave your comments as always on this blog or in https://www.trabber.co.uk/contact.
